New Case Study by One Step Retail Solutions Shows Pump Station Continuing to Expand Despite Shaky Economic Climate

A new case study released today by One Step Retail Solutions (onestepretail.com), one of the country's largest providers of technology systems for retail stores, highlights the continued growth of The Pump Station and Nurtury, a retail business built around a consulting partnership catering to breast-feeding mothers.

According to Pump Station COO Cheryl Petran, the way that they are continuing to expand has everything to do with the technology being utilized in the store. "I learned many years ago: manage your inventory smart and manage your vendors smart. I can do both with my POS system," claims the up-beat executive. "One of the scariest things in bad economic times is that your inventory will run away with you; open to buy is important, not buying stupid; we're not going to come out of this year overstocked, and we're managing markdowns very well."

One Step Retail Solutions provided both the software and hardware for the systems in both the Pump Station Santa Monica, CA store and the Hollywood, CA store. Pump Station has experienced 20% growth in their Santa Monica store and 83% growth in the Hollywood store.

Even as people still continue to have babies, The Pump Station and Nurtury is having its own family expansion. While some retailers are hesitating in the current economy, Pump Station is planning to open two new stores during 2009.
