The new Bausch & Lomb Storz® Ophthalmic Instruments site was developed to provide dynamic online training and exam materials for nurses and ophthalmic surgical staff members.

This was an exciting project for us not only because of the partner, Bausch & Lomb Storz Ophthalmics Instruments, but because it allowed us to demonstrate the power and flexibility of our myimpactCMS product. From private registration though test taking to certificate printing, the project was a great all encompassing application of the testing software modules of the myimpactCMS product.

The Net Impact, a St Louis web development firm, is proud to announce the launch of the Bausch & Lomb Storz® Ophthalmics Continuing Education website, today. Bausch & Lomb Storz Ophthalmic Instruments, contracted with The Net Impact to develop their online education site. The Net Impact designed the content management system, myimpactCMS, in which the new site is built and developed the public website which includes online exams with dynamic scoring and certificate generation, surveys, and training materials.

Successful completion of the education programs on the site allows participants to receive contact hours approved by the Texas Nurses Association, the Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution, Inc (CBSPD), and the International Association for Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM).

Chuck Hess, Senior Director of Marketing and Sales for Surgical Instruments at Bausch & Lomb, said, "These programs can be used to equip ophthalmic surgical staff with an appreciation of the delicate nature of microsurgical instrumentation as well as the knowledge needed to extend the life of their instrument sets. Staff members will be encouraged to take ownership in their role of providing instrumentation that is long-lasting and in optimal working condition, ultimately providing more positive surgical outcomes for the patient and better use of expense budgets for the facility."
