Houston Metro Transit Authority Purchases the SyberWorks Hosted Learning Management System to Provide Rail Worker Maintenance-Certification Training

SyberWorks Inc., a leader in the Learning Management Systems industry, announced today that they signed an agreement with Houston Metro Transit Authority to provide rail worker maintenance-certification training.

Waltham, Massachusetts (PRWEB) March 31, 2009 -- SyberWorks Inc., a leader in the Learning Management Systems industry, announced today that they signed an agreement with Houston Metro Transit Authority to provide rail worker maintenance-certification training.

Jim Fountain, Rail Maintenance Training Manager, states, "The Houston Metro Transit Authority provides bus and light-rail service to the Houston area. Our training organization currently serves 80 employees, who repair and maintain the Houston metro rail system. And we expect this number of employees to triple over the next few years.

"These workers need annual and bi-annual safety- and equipment-certification training on forklifts, overhead cranes, "hyrail" vehicles (which operate on both highways and rails), and other types of track-line machines. We were using an internal learning management system for training, but quickly realized that it would not meet our needs, especially with our staff expansion plans.

"So we interviewed several vendors and tested their systems. Houston Metro Transit Authority chose the SyberWorks Hosted Learning Management System because it offered so much more functionality than the other systems we evaluated, and at the lowest possible price. We were confident the SyberWorks Hosted Learning Management System had the feature set we needed in its core product, and that it would keep up with our training needs over the coming years. We also liked its read-and-sign functionality, which will allow us to track and manage whether our rail-maintenance employees have read important memos about policy and equipment changes. Finally, the SyberWorks staff is terrific to work with, and they answer our questions promptly."
