XOS Technologies' Reliable, Easy-to-Use Replay System Created Specifically for Basketball

Our system sits courtside and unlike a VCR or even a DVD recorder, there is no delay when returning to a previously recorded point in the video

As the top four men's and women's basketball teams prepare to meet in Detroit and St. Louis, respectively, this weekend for the NCAA Final Four, the Sun Belt Conference and XOS Technologies announce that they are partnering to provide men's and women's basketball officiating crews with the most reliable, easy-to-use instant replay system.

At the recent Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship, Conference officials saw a real-world application of this pinpoint-accurate system. During a live demonstration during the semifinal game, courtside officials used the XOS Basketball Replay System's quick replay to overturn a call on the court, changing a two-pointer to a three-pointer.

"We saw that this flexible and easy-to-use tool was able to meet the rigorous demands of a fast-paced and hugely important game," said Sun Belt Commissioner Wright Waters. "We're confident that when our players take the court next season, the XOS Basketball Replay System will give the officiating crew the most advanced resources available to preserve the integrity of the game and reward our student-athletes' hard work on the floor."

The Sun Belt Conference began using the XOS Football Replay System for all conference games at the start of the 2006 season. The conference will begin using the XOS Basketball Replay System at the start of the 2009-2010 season.

The basketball system incorporates XOS' industry-leading replay technology and playback tools, and it allows officials to navigate the video and make quick and accurate calls. The simple system allows for seamless integration of various video sources, including broadcast, team video or in-venue feeds.

Also, an XOS camera is positioned on the in-venue shot and game clocks, and that video is inserted directly onto the game footage, guaranteeing that there is no way the clock reference point can ever be out of sync with the main game video. In short, any review of possible time-based infractions will always be accurate thanks to XOS' cutting-edge technologies.

"Our system sits courtside and unlike a VCR or even a DVD recorder, there is no delay when returning to a previously recorded point in the video," said XOS Technologies' Director of Sales and Business Development Bryan Bedford. "The response is instantaneous so that the referee can spend his time looking at the video and not waiting to get to a specific point. Our system is unmatched in the industry when it comes to helping officials make quick, accurate calls without disrupting the action on the floor."

More than 100 of the nation's top schools, leagues and conferences already use XOS' proprietary instant replay technology, which is the most widespread replay tool in sports.
XOS' replay clients include the Pac-10 Conference, Big 12 Conference, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference and the Canadian Football League for football replay; the WAC and Sun Belt Conferences for basketball replay and the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and the Central Collegiate Hockey Association for hockey replay.

The WAC has used XOS Basketball Replay System for the past two seasons with great success.

"XOS Technologies' instant replay system for basketball developed for the Western Athletic Conference was precisely what we needed and envisioned," said WAC Commissioner Karl Benson. "The process from development to implementation was smooth, and coupled with one easy and quick training session provided by XOS to our schools, got us up and running in a short time. The system performed as expected during games and facilitated many decisions made by our men's and women's officials in a quick and timely manner."

With more than 900 professional and collegiate clients, only XOS has the size and infrastructure to successfully install, service and support multiple conferences using the XOS Basketball Replay System.
