New company offers "twitters" a unique way to give back

A new company is offering Twitter users a chance to make money for themselves and their favorite causes while connecting with family, friends and business associates. adCause is the creation of Andrew Arnott.

All the ads will be in-line and contained within the 140 characters required by Twitter and adCause will give a portion of the profits to Twitter. Publishers can help their community by donating a portion of their cash to their favorite cause. The release of adCause coincides with one of the most difficult economic downturns in years. Many people have lost their job and charities need donations to help those in need.

"When I came up with the concept of advertising on Twitter, I started with the question of how can I help the community and still make a living," Arnott said. "adCause was built not only to be a benefit to the Twitter community but also to the world."

Arnott made the process simple so that any Twitter user could participate. Publishers will set the price they want to charge to place ads in their Twitter feed. The advertiser can accept the price or make an offer if they think the ad price is too high. Publishers also have control over the rate the ads are displayed so that their followers will not be overcome with ad fatigue.

"Businesses that are not connecting with their users via Twitter are missing the opportunity to virally get their product or service out there," Arnott said.
