Affinity4 Blood Drive Helps Address Critical Shortage

Recognizing that critical shortages of blood supplies across all types existed in its community, Affinity4 hosted a blood drive open to its employees and family members, friends and other businesses in its Norfolk, Virginia office building. As a result, 31 points of blood were collected.

Affinity4, one of the nation's leading affinity-based marketers specializing in helping charities, ministries and other non-profit organizations raise funds, responded to the American Red Cross' need for blood donations by hosting a blood drive from its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. The company opened up the blood drive to its employees; their family members and friends, as well as other organizations located in the same office building. It was held on the 25th of March in recognition of American Red Cross Month.

As an added incentive to encourage blood donations, Affinity4 sponsored a raffle for participants, which awarded prizes valuing over $200 and ranging from gift certificates to local restaurants to an iPod® Nano.

In the end, 31 pints of blood were collected at the Affinity4 blood drive which, in turn, will help save up to 89 lives in the local community. That fact and the camaraderie shared by the Affinity4 blood drive coordinators, the donors and the Red Cross volunteers alike had many of the participants commenting that they would definitely be back to donate in future blood drives.
