Flagline.com Is Puzzled About Recent Wave Of "Don't Tread On Me" Flags Sales--"Is America Under Attack Again?" Store Owner Asks

Americans are showing their disenchantment with current government policies and, similar to post 9/11, are looking for symbols to show their outrage.

Colorado Springs, Colorado (PRWEB) April 1, 2009 -- "We can't keep the Gadsden flags in stock," says Karen Schneider, owner of http://www.flagline.com, an online flag store in Colorado, which has weathered the Dale Earnhardt Sr. storm after his sad and sudden death in 2001, and the 9/11 catastrophe during the same year. For her, it is a déjà-vu experience under different circumstances. Back then Dale Earnhardt fans looked for anything bearing a #3 on it to comfort them for the loss they experienced. The tragedy surrounding 9/11 had the whole country sold out of red, white and blue for months, whilst the whole country was mourning.

"Right now people call me all day long to let off some steam and I get the feeling that they are very disappointed and angry," Ms. Schneider says. "Many do see a change, but not in the direction they want. So often they resort to protest and with all due respect to our beloved Stars and Stripes, the Gadsden flag is the appropriate symbol for it, loaded with history." (if you are curious about the history of the Gadsden flag, please visit http://www.gadsden.info)

She expects to see the blazing yellow banner that sports the ominous coiled snake and revolutionary warning, "Don't Tread on Me" on every corner on April 15th, tax day, when many communities will hold a Tea Party, after the historic event in Boston on December 16, 1773.
