Bold Palette, Elaborate Patterns Stand Out in Pal + Smith's Furniture for Spring and Summer

Southern California's stylish design firm Pal + Smith unveils its Spring/Summer '09 collection of furniture and launches a first-ever collection of fantasy rugs and luxe retail pillows.

Newport Beach, CA (PRWEB) April 2, 2009 -- Southern California's stylish design firm Pal + Smith unveils its Spring/Summer '09 collection of furniture and launches a first-ever collection of fantasy rugs and luxe retail pillows.

Pal + Smith's second furniture collection draws on many of the same ideas as the debut line this past fall: color that pops, rich historical references, and rock and roll undertones. The firm's fashion-forward rug collection weaves elements of European design in bold-scale patterns and a high-contrast palette.

Azore armoire: A unique reproduction of a diminutive antique, the armoire's glass doors are backed with a dramatic botanical print, though any wallpaper or fabric may be used.

Azore rug: Inspired by brocade from a 19th-century French dress, the enormous scale of the two flowers and free-flowing leaves is magnificent. Wool and silk combination.

Chauncey swivel chair: The large-scale blue-and-white Bergamo floral needlepoint upholstery lends retro appeal to this stylish and comfortable swivel chair.

Dylan chaise: White liquid leather and Pal + Smith private-label Kelly green velvet are juxtaposed in a streamlined design that gives off a modern Italian vibe.

Grayson chair: The Grayson reflects Pal + Smith's interest in Midcentury furniture. Shown in private label Pal + Smith leather.

Shoji lamp: The Shoji's exaggerated turned base is a combination of two vintage lamp designs. Palazzo added a fashion accessory to the silk shade: a strand of dangling jade trim on the edge of the shade.

Sui armoire: Pal + Smith modeled the Sui after an antique, making slight modifications to contemporize it. The pattern of the hatch resembles chinoiserie wallpaper/fabric, adding an element of Asian flair. Can be custom-colored in any shade.

Pillows: The unique design aesthetic of Pal + Smith's luxurious private label pillow collection is highlighted by stunning fabrics from Osborne & Little and Kenneth Meyer trims.
