We teach our clients how to avoid the mistakes that can be fatal to a business, and help them attack their legal challenges in an orderly and focused manner

It was a drizzling, overcast day when the Mesa law firm of Gibson Ferrin & Riggs, PLC opened its doors for business on April 1, 1999. The attorneys and two on-site staff members set up shop in 800 square feet of cramped office space.

Now celebrating its tenth anniversary, the firm occupies more than 7000 square feet of space in its own office building at Higley and the Superstition Freeway in Mesa. The firm has grown to six attorneys and nine staff members.

"It's been a great ten years," said attorney Paul Riggs, one of the firm's founding partners. "I help some of the best people through some of the most difficult times of their lives." Riggs practices exclusively in the area of family law.

The attorneys at Gibson Ferrin & Riggs work primarily with small businesses and their owners in the Phoenix/Mesa area. As it moves into its second decade, the firm is giving renewed efforts to helping its clients preserve, protect, and promote their business and personal interests.

A big portion of that work centers on making sure that businesses are appropriately structured to maximize legal protections and ensure the continued life of the business, noted attorney Michael Ferrin. "Once the business is properly structured, we work with the owners to develop appropriate asset protection and estate plans so that they can keep what they have worked hard to build," Ferrin said.

The firm also helps its clients to elude common pitfalls that can hinder or destroy a small business.

"We teach our clients how to avoid the mistakes that can be fatal to a business, and help them attack their legal challenges in an orderly and focused manner," said attorney Scott Gibson. "Proper planning is especially critical during times of economic uncertainty."

The firm's strength is in coordinating the experience and skills of its lawyers to best meet the clients' needs. "We help our clients grow their businesses and achieve their goals," said Ferrin.

As a leading Phoenix/Mesa law firm, Gibson Ferrin & Riggs, PLC concentrates its practice on serving small business owners and their families with business related issues, estate planning and family law. The firm's experience in business law, commercial litigation, estate law, and family law is recognized in the Phoenix/Mesa area. Gibson Ferrin & Riggs, PLC is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
