Niagara Conservation, the leading U.S. manufacturer of high-efficiency residential conservation products, stands ready to assist public utilities hoping to meet the July 17, 2009 deadline for new federal funding available for water and energy efficiency programs. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 allocates billions of dollars for water and energy efficiency projects administered by public utilities across the United States. Twenty percent of the $9 billion mandated for water projects is dedicated to water efficiency goals.

"We recognize that staffing and time is short, but this is the perfect opportunity for utilities to implement the programs they need to meet their goals," Carl Wehmeyer, executive vice president at Niagara, said. "Niagara will assist with program design and a rapid turnaround for applications needed to secure the stimulus funds. We will help utilities be a part of our country's stimulus goals while boosting their local economy, putting money in their customers' pockets and saving both water and energy."

For decades, Niagara Conservation has assisted water and energy utilities and service providers with the development and administration of the best products and services to meet their efficiency goals. The New Jersey company partners with utilities to provide scalable programs that can be implemented in as little as 30 days. Services include:

  •     Planning and development consultations
