Christian Choice Writing Contest Crowns Three Winners

Stories were selected from among 414 submissions in March

Longwood, FL-- This spring, Xulon Press invited authors of every stripe to submit original work for the Spring 2009 Christian Choice Writing Contest. The contest, which centered on the miracle of Easter, asked authors to recall a time in their life when they witnessed a miracle. After receiving a record 414 submissions from both amateur and professional writers, the stories--which ranged from personal testimonies, to poems, to works of fiction--were reviewed by a select panel of judges. Of those 414, three prize winners were selected.

In first place was Mildred Probert, whose heartwarming story tells of the special "voice" God gifted her mother with shortly after her passing. Mary Lou Tiner's Breaking the Ice--a second place winner--tells of the author's experiences in Russia, and how she came to worship the Risen Lord side by side with her "enemies." Third place went to Patricia A. Hastings' How Does God Guide Us? which tells the story of the author's "God-blouse"--a top she bought twenty-five years prior in the midst of economic hardship. Each of the winning authors will receive cash prizes of up to $1,000 and certificates of achievement.

The Christian Choice Writing Contest represents a unique opportunity for both amateur and professional writers to make their voice heard. And, thanks to this one-of-a-kind contest from the number one Christian publishing company in the world, aspiring writers will finally achieve the recognition they deserve.
