Jimmy Fallon: New Media King
North Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) April 1, 2009
North Hollywood, CA -- University Link Magazine (ULM), a new monthly glossy magazine written by college students and exclusively designed for college students, announced today that it has secured renowned comedian Jimmy Fallon, host of NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for a cover feature story in the premiere issue, debuting April 10 to college students throughout Southern California. The publication, available by subscription only at http://www.ulmagazine.com will feature an in-depth cover story and interview with the new late night host, giving readers a look behind-the-scenes as Fallon prepared to fill the role vacated by longtime host Conan O'Brien.
The cover feature, "Jimmy Fallon: New Media King" looks at the unique way the "Saturday night Live" alum was re-introduced to "Late Night's" mostly college-age audience through video blogs (or "vlogs") and how the groundwork was laid for Fallon's quick success in the new venture. The in-depth interview was written by Taylor Van Arsdale and Amy Sommer, the Managing Editor and Associate Editor of the magazine. The cover photo shoot was done by Virginia Sherwood.
Under my desk I have: A feather from Big Bird, a guitar pic from Neil Young, a troll doll, an autographed picture of Jesus, Dan and Dave from the Reebok ads and a picture of what I'd look like if I aged like Benjamin Button. . .but I don't really have anything "weird".
Additional stories to be found in the inaugural issue of ULM include features on Cancun and Spring Break, the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, cheap meals, and a straight-forward discussion of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Each issue of the exclusive publication will contain feature stories of great interest to college students, including careers, health & fitness, sports, technology, entertainment, style, politics and more.
"We're honored that Jimmy Fallon agreed to grace the cover of our inaugural issue," said Ali Salomi, co-publisher of ULM, along with business partner Chad Tyner. "NBC made a brilliant choice when they picked Jimmy to succeed Conan O'Brien as host of 'Late Night,' - a top program among college students. He has a huge following in the college age demographic and we anticipate our audience will be interested in what he has to say about his plans for the show."
The magazine will have an initial print run of 12,000 copies which will go to students who subscribed on the http://www.ulmagazine.com website during the free trial offer period earlier this year. New subscribers can take advantage of the magazine's reduced annual rate of $20 for 10 issues (they do not publish in July and August).
