MD IT Expands in the Northwest with Acquisition of Seattle's Pro Scribe

MD IT, a national provider of medical documentation services and software, announced today that it has acquired Pro Scribe Inc. of Seattle, an innovative medical documentation company that serves more than 450 healthcare professionals throughout Washington and the Northwest.

Boulder, CO (PRWEB) April 2, 2009 -- MD IT, a national provider of medical documentation services and software, announced today that it has acquired Pro Scribe Inc. of Seattle, an innovative medical documentation company that serves more than 450 healthcare professionals throughout Washington and the Northwest.
"Pro-Scribe has never been stronger, and as a part of MD IT, we will have the technical reach to remain valuable to our clients and provide them with increasingly sophisticated services in the growing and complicated world of electronic medical records (EMRs)," stated Tom Albro, president of Pro Scribe. "We believe by joining with MD IT that we will continue our sustained growth and provide the best possible future for our clients and employees."

Pro Scribe employs about 100 medical transcriptionists and support team members who will continue serving their existing clients after joining MD IT. Pro-Scribe owners Albro and Jonathan Solomon will join MD-IT's management team.

"We are pleased to add Pro Scribe and welcome their talented team of professionals to MD IT," said Thomas Carson, president and CEO of MD IT. "Pro Scribe is known as an innovator in helping clients navigate the transition from paper charts to EMR applications, while delivering cost savings, improved workflows and better integration of patient care. They are an ideal fit for our emphasis on simplifying electronic records."

MD IT is the largest company serving physician offices and ambulatory clinics nationwide, a market estimated at $7 billion of the $10 billion spent annually on medical transcription in the US. Hospitals account for the remaining $3 billion. MD-IT's medical documentation software and service enables physicians to spend more time with patients and family, and less time on the paperwork required to document patient visits.
