Liverpool, UK (PRWEB) April 3, 2009
Liverpool-based entrepreneurs Peter Glover and John Elcock have launched specialist Internet marketing company CL5.
CL5 will be Liverpool city centre's first agency exclusively dedicated to search engine marketing.
The company is based in the former Bank of England building in Castle Street and will employ five staff.
CL5 director John Elcock commented:
'Our launch of CL5 is a direct response to the shift in media spend from traditional marketing channels into digital'.
'The evidence suggests that in a tough economic climate business is ditching areas of marketing activity such as public relations and corporate hospitality where perceived value is low'.
'Online marketing provides businesses with a fast, flexible, targeted and fully accountable route to sales or brand development'.
'We are 100% confident that this is the right time for us to enter the market and that Liverpool is the right place to do it'.
Elcock, 38, lives in Liverpool and has been working in online marketing for over a decade. He was previously managing director of web design company Aquarium and spent five years freelancing as a search marketing consultant before joining CL5.
He is also one of a handful of qualified Google Advertising Professionals in the region, an accredited exam-based CPD programme from the US-based search giant for its pay-per-click advertising software.
CL5 managing director Peter Glover says:
'In an economic climate that is seeing ad revenues across TV, radio and print plummet, Internet advertising is bucking the trend. The market is growing over 20% year on year and the only area of ad spend in the UK that actually increased in 2008 reaching over £3b.
'CL5 will offer a complete search marketing toolkit, from search engine optimisation to pay-per-click advertising and social media consultancy.
Glover, 34, has been director of Liverpool-based design and advertising agency Creative Liverpool since 2000.
