We are running this contest to get a feeling for reward systems
Carson City, NV (PRWEB) April 3, 2009
Travelgrove, Inc., a travel search portal, announced today that they will be adding more and more interactive tools to their site. The goal is to get people involved and making sure that everybody will help each other out as they are planning their trip. While helping and sharing is both fun and useful, Travelgrove has started to do little contests to reward active community members. With the new contests, Travelgrove wants to get user involved and used to the vast amount of travel and social tools on the site. The site is also planning an extensive reward system so that all user activity will be rewarded.
It's extremely difficult to get the community going, but Travelgrove feels that if you combine a little fun and some useful tools, there may still be some great opportunities left.
Travelgrove started the rewards idea last month with a simple lottery system for a portable DVD player. Whoever posted a few things was automatically entered into the lottery. This month, the site is giving away an iPod Nano, but only for the most active users. "We are running this contest to get a feeling for reward systems", Peter Suhayda, Travelgrove, Inc.'s CEO explains. "We are not trying to reach Millions of travelers with this for now, but are looking to find ways to enhance overall user activity".
So far the community only has a few thousand members, but this number could grow quickly as Travelgrove is focusing more on this section of the site. Currently, members are able to add their travel journals, write articles, upload galleries, and do many of the other social things all available for free. Travelgrove's goal is to offer a truly objective travel search engine with many social features. "The only other site doing a great job at this is TripAdvisor, which is a behemoth in the hotel space", Mr. Suhayda says, "but we are planning to apply this concept more extensively for broader travel rather than just for one product".
In order to highlight the new functionalities, Travelgrove is working on a complete website relaunch with an all new design sometime around mid-summer.
"We have barely been hurt during the financial crisis, because we have been playing everything very safely, now is the time to grab market share, and that's only possible with rapid innovation", says Peter Suhayda. "Our goal is to become a one stop travel planning platform with the promise that the site not only helps you find great travel deals quickly, but also offers other traveler's advice.
