Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 3, 2009 -- The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) (www.fidm.com), a coeducational, specialized, private college dedicated to preparing students for the fashion, graphics, interior design, and entertainment industries, has launched a new website (www.myfidmfashionclub.com) to help high school students and their advisors start fashion clubs across the country.

Formerly known as Start Your Own Club (SYOC), MyFIDMFashionClub.com has been redesigned and revamped with tools, downloads, news, and social networking opportunities - everything an aspiring fashionista needs to get a club up and running in five easy steps. Members also receive perks like reserved seating at the FIDM Debut Runway Show, a chance to win contest prizes, scholarship opportunities, and free admission to FIDM's big summer event, 3 Days of Fashion, and more.

"MyFIDMFashionClub.com will prove to be an invaluable resource," said Denice Cantu, FIDM Promotions Manager. "It will serve as a starting point for new clubs and give members an opportunity to transform their budding interest into an exciting extracurricular activity and even improve their college applications."

The overarching goal of the FIDM FashionClub High School Chapter is to provide expert guidance for, and to create a community among, high school students. The program, according to Cantu, is built on sharing, learning, exploring, and showcasing up-and-coming talent within the fashion, graphics, interior design, marketing, and visual arts disciplines. Any currently enrolled high school student - freshman to senior - is eligible to join and can do so at anytime throughout the year.
