Raj Lahoti, Online Guru, Crosses Paths with Wellness Guru Deepak Chopra

Kauai, Hawaii (PRWEB) April 3, 2009 -- While exploring another beautiful landscape overlooking the Pacific, San Diego-based OnlineGURU Inc. CEO Raj Lahoti and his wife Vidya happened upon the 5th Annual Kauai Wellness Expo and keynote speaker and wellness guru Dr. Deepak Chopra.
At the beginning of the year, the Lahotis spontaneously traveled to the island known for being a beautiful and untouched, spiritual escape. They planned the trip to test whether working remotely on OG initiatives--using the latest technology such as Web cams, laptops and PDA devices--would prove to be a productive and positive experience. Most certainly, it did.
That was because unbeknownst to the Lahotis, the Wellness Expo was being held a short distance from their hotel, featuring keynote speaker and wellness guru Deepak Chopra. Joined by internationally known, inspirational speakers and brilliant healthcare practitioners Chopra shared his knowledge of healthy and balanced living with more than 2,000 attendees.
One of the many highlights of Raj and Vidya's island excursion was meeting Chopra, and expressing their deep appreciation for his work. Chopra is known throughout the world for his message of peace and insight into mind-body medicine. He has written a number of best-selling books, hosts a Sirius radio show, and co-founded the Chopra Center in La Jolla, Calif. Today the Center is headquartered in Carlsbad, only 20 minutes from the Lahotis' residence and place of business in Southern California.
Not only did the couple take this as the perfect opportunity to enhance their understanding of physical, spiritual and mental wellness; they took this chance meeting as confirmation that working remotely opens new doors and fosters openness and clarity often impossible to cultivate in the typical office setting.
Since December 2008, Raj has turned many a destination into his office away from home. He had the opportunity to demonstrate his ability to work remotely on his company's flagship Web site DMV.ORG by attending all of his previously scheduled meetings while in Kauai through video conferencing. The futuristic CEO felt as if he was right there in the office with his staff. And from this well-focused point of view, he was able to make better decisions for his business.
"I don't believe in vacations because they seem too much like an escape from reality," Raj claimed. "Instead I believe we should try integrating our lives and our work using freedom and creativity. We should be able to do whatever we want, wherever we want in order to further our business-making and life-affirming decisions."
Soon after his trip to Kauai, Raj purchased laptops for all his employees, so that they too can feel free to find an environment that fulfills their lives and best suits their productivity. They also partake in weekly in-house massages and all-natural arrays of drinks and snacks provided by the company.
