Jason Alexander is as serious about poker ashe is about raising awareness for putting an end to domestic violence. He will be hosting a Texas Hold-Em Poker Tournament on May 9th at the Hollywood Park Casino in Los Angeles, CA, starting at 2:00pm. Each hand played will be a strong step towards ending domestic violence and helping youth who have been abused and abandoned. All proceeds from this tournament will go towards benefiting 1736 Family Crisis Center, Los Angeles' largest domestic violence agency for the last 36 years.
1736 Family Crisis Center operates 5 shelters throughout Los Angeles County, including 4 domestic violence shelter and one emergency youth shelter. Through the Center's shelters, three outpatient clinics, five 24-hour emergency response stations and educational/outreach services, over 25,000 abuse victims and their children were helped in 2008. The most severe cases were taken in 1736 Family Crisis Center's care. The Center relies 100% on grants and donations to provide much-needed services to victims of abuse and abandoned youth. These victims do not pay a penny for any of the services they receive for up to 2 years. In this uncertain economic climate, the nonprofits have been hit the hardest, and sadly, an unstable economy statistically fuels domestic violence. Please help us by joining in to play poker with Jason and his friends, as we become part of the solution to end domestic violence.
