Troy, Mich. (PRWEB) April 4, 2009
The Project Management Institute (PMI) Great Lakes Chapter (GLC) is excited to announce open registration for their 2009 Annual Spring Symposium featuring keynote speaker Lisa DiTillio. This year's event entitled "Role of Project Management in a Rapidly Changing Economy - What Can We Expect?" will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Sterling Inn Banquet and Conference Center in Sterling Heights.
The PMI GLC Spring Symposium provides a platform for the best minds in academia and industry to share the latest developments and advancements made in the field of project management.
Internationally recognized industry leader and author, Lisa DiTullio, principal of Lisa DiTullio & Associates, will launch the event with her keynote address. As past director of the project management office at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, she is credited with leading efforts that took the company from state-supervised receivership to U.S. News & World Reports best health plan four years in a row. From college campuses to Fortune 100 companies, thousands of people have gained insight from DiTullio's tell-it-like-it-is presentations.
"Good project management enables organizations to improve decision making, instill accountability and enhance communications - all necessary to establish calm during these especially chaotic times," said DiTullio. "Symposiums like those presented by PMI offer a chance for project managers to gain an enormous amount of knowledge in just one day."
Other opportunities will include more than a dozen classes taught by experts from across the country on everything from perfecting your portfolio to increasing your knowledge base - offering attendees information on best practices and the latest and greatest tools and techniques of the trade. The day will conclude with a question and answer panel featuring a variety of industry leaders.
"The current economic crisis is bringing situations and circumstances that the current generations of project managers have never experienced," said Arun Vinod Das, President PMI GLC. "We built this year's event as an opportunity for project managers to network, share experiences and learn from some of the best in our field."
The event is open to the public and registration is required. Early registration discounts are available through April 8. Additional information and registration can be found at http://www.pmiglc.org. Space is limited.
