Greenwich, CT (PRWEB) April 3, 2009 -- The world's fastest and most innovative legal street car, the Maxximus G-Force, will be presented at Ron Rosa's Polpo Restaurant & Saloon in Greenwich, CT. Developed by philanthropist and businessman David Bruce McMahan and designed by Marlon Kirby, the Maxximus, which harnesses over 1,600 horsepower, is officially certified by the World Records Academy. It is being displayed for car collectors and enthusiasts to enjoy on Sunday, April 5, 2009 from 12 PM to 4 PM.

Recently sold to a private auto collector, Maxximus Technologies is offering the opportunity to glimpse the world's fastest car. Polpo is the last stop prior to it being shipped to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Polpo was selected as the preview site due to Rosa's reputation for impeccable service and the restaurants' built-in clientele. In honor of the occasion, Polpo created a specialty cocktail, aptly named "The Maxximus," to toast the afternoon and send the car off in style.

The sleek design of the Maxximus G-Force makes it a car that can handle the highest G-forces in its class. G-force is what is created by a car when it travels in a circle, under heavy acceleration or deceleration. A dozen people with different specializations worked on the Maxximus G-Force's proprietary design over a period of two years, spanning the globe from the U.K. and California to Indiana, Virginia, and Maryland. As a result, three new World Records were set by the Maxximus G-Force car's designer Marlon Kirby, at the Rockingham, NC Raceway on Oct. 7, 2008:

  • 0 - 60 mph: 2.134 seconds, breaking the long standing record of 2.6 seconds.
  • 0 - 100 mph: 4.541 seconds, eclipsing the long standing record of 5.3 seconds.
  • 0 - 100 mph - 0: 8.861 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 9.4 seconds.

Polpo consistently receives stellar ratings from "Zagat" and garners excellent reviews from publications including The New York Times. Polpo continues to please loyal patrons while attracting new guests in search of a newly refined and intimate dining experience. Polpo Restaurant and Saloon is located at 554 Old Post Road #3, Greenwich, CT, 203-629-1999.
