The 2009 Annual Meeting is the highly anticipated three-day learning and networking event which will attract the most diverse transportation audience from across the country in one place. This event will take place at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland -- just inside the Washington, DC metro area. This is a critical time for our industry to demonstrate how ITS technologies can improve safety, mobility, and the environment while optimizing transportation dollars and helping to finance the future of our transportation system.

ITS applications like intelligent intersections with synchronized traffic lights, weigh-in-motion truck inspections, electronic tolling, collision avoidance systems, smart transit vehicles, and real-time information about traffic conditions and travel options will make transportation safer, more efficient, and will lead to greater productivity and a cleaner environment.

Attendees will have access to a fully-integrated demonstration of innovative mobility solutions that will take place just outside the convention center; 150,000 square feet of exhibits from more than 140 companies that provide the latest in practical and useful ITS solutions, and a conference program featuring nearly 100 educational sessions. Would you like to meet your legislators? ITS America has planned a dedicated "Capitol Hill Day" where attendees will have the opportunity to meet directly with their members of Congress. Attendees will also want to take advantage of the many highly relevant and informative technical tours. The Washington, DC metropolitan area is a recognized leader in the deployment of ITS technologies and practices and the conference's technical tours will enable attendees to experience them and hopefully bring ideas home to their own regions.

For additional information on the program and to register, visit http://www.itsa.org/annualmeeting.html. Discounted rates are available for members of ITS America and full-time public sector employees.
