According to Dr. Marga, "I hope that my website will help women be more informed about all forms of breast reconstruction so they can make the most educated choice regarding their reconstructive options." Towards this end Dr. Marga's new website contains information on over 15 surgical breast reconstruction techniques from simple tissue expander breast implants to a wide array of sophisticated microsurgical techniques like DIEP flaps, GAP flaps and TUG flaps. The Dr. Marga website also clearly and in plain language explains the benefits as well as potential risks and complications of each procedure.

About Dr. Marga F. Massey
Dr. Marga is double-board certified Plastic / Reconstructive and General Surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons with a focus on Breast Reconstruction and Vascularized Lymph Node Transfer for lymphedema. Dr. Marga has worked with Dr. Stephen J. Mathes, a nationally acclaimed Professor of Surgery whose contributions include the description of microsurgical transfer of muscle flaps. In 2002, Dr. Marga was recruited to join the faculty at the University of Utah and was a founding member of the Huntsman Cancer Hospital in 2004 where she performed the first perforator flap reconstruction in the state of Utah. Given her belief that microsurgical perforator flaps are the gold standard of breast reconstruction, Dr. Marga developed a relationship with Dr. Robert J. Allen, the pioneer of DIEP, SIEA and GAP flaps. In 2007, she was recruited by Dr. Allen to join the staff at the Center for Microsurgical Breast Reconstruction in Charleston, South Carolina. Since moving to Charleston, she continues her commitment to the women of the Intermountain West as she commutes to Utah on a regular basis. Additionally, she has established a presence in Chicago in order to bridge the gap for women in the Midwest.
