He assumes responsibility for managing the global research team after the retirement of Mrs. Trish Van Zyl who has led the team since the company was founded in 2000.
Mr. Pienaar joins World-Check from the Sanlam Life Group where, over a nine year period, he was most recently Head of Forensic Investigations and Group Money Laundering Reporting Officer. Previously he was a Senior State Advocate with South Africa's Office for Serious Economic Offences (OSEO/IDSEO), and began his career as a State Prosecutor in Johannesburg. He holds a Masters Degree in Constitutional Law, and LL.B and B.lur degrees.
