Tagit Pte Ltd (http://www.tagitmobile.com), the Singapore-based mobile commerce company, has introduced a new service for Singapore Airlines which will enable their customers to check in for their flights using their Singapore-registered mobile phones.

The "SIA Mobile" check-in facility is built on Tagit's Mobeix platform, a highly secure and scalable mobile middleware which enables financial institutions and enterprises to extend their existing web-based services on the mobile phone. This innovative technology can work on both Rich Client and Mobile Web, and is supported on hundreds of mobile phone models running on all the popular operating systems, such as Symbian, Java, Windows, iPhone, and BlackBerry.

The check-in facility will enable customers who have already been issued a ticket for their booking to check in for their flights anytime between 2 and 48 hours before departure and select the seat of their choice. All this will make travel more convenient and hassle-free.

The mobile service will be expanded over time to include other useful services such as booking of tickets and accessing of selected KrisFlyer services on the mobile phone.

The SIA Mobile Service works on most mobile phones with a GPRS connection. The application can be easily downloaded onto a mobile phone from m.singaporeair.com within a minute, making the service accessible to anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Commenting on the launch of SIA's Mobile check-in facility, Mr Navtej Singh, Co-Founder and CEO of Tagit said, "this is truly a momentous occasion for our young, fast-growing company. It not only provides a clear validation of our technology by one the biggest brands in air travel, but also sets a new standard of convenience for air travelers."

Tagit gained early recognition as a pioneer of mCommerce transaction services when in September 2006 it launched the first "Mobile Ticket Counter" of its kind with India's largest GSM operator Airtel and PVR Cinemas, the leading chain of cineplexes in India. Today Tagit has a list of marquee clients in the financial sector, airline travel, betting, retail shopping, government services and cinema ticketing, making it amongst the leading mCommerce players in the Asian region, with a footprint from India to South and East Asia.
