Today Saba announced an outstanding first-quarter firmed-up by an extremely strong March. In March, Saba achieved a 38 percent increase in recruiting, 54 percent increase in new associate monthly auto-ship commitments, and more than a 4 percent increase in overall sales, all an improvement over February numbers. "The combination of these increases and the momentum of our Associates coming out of our Regional event in Nashville on March 28th, has poised Saba for massive growth over the next quarter," said CEO and President, Dr. Jerry Grizzle. "The sales growth in the month of March led us into our event in Nashville, and that event historically has increased sales substantially. We believe with the sales increases and the new tools and incentives that were announced in Nashville, we will see explosive growth here at Saba."

What everyone is asking is, will the1st quarter earnings reports boost or bash optimism? (The LA Times, April 4, 2009). For Saba Associates "Boost" is what they are experiencing. Many decided to face the lax economy head-on by investing in a home based business to help ends meet, or to ramp up their existing direct selling business. In many cases, these individuals have surpassed their earning power, and proved that these hard times have been a positive experience compared to many who have lost their jobs.

The LA Times reports, "Even companies whose businesses normally are resistant to downturns have found themselves struggling to sustain earnings." Not so for Saba. "...This is the biggest jump in new business that we have seen since the launch of Saba, and April (numbers) are already ahead of March," said Platinum Director Eugene Smith.

Several home based businesses have seen an upswing in their numbers compared to traditional retail business, but it seems that home based businesses that are relative to consumers as value added or necessity products are finding themselves on top. "Saba (the product) may help in fighting stress and sustain overall wellness for consumers. To be successful in any business, especially in this economy, you must feel good. It's important to most people to feel good," chuckled Grizzle. "And we are feeling great!"
