A new 112 room Staybridge Suites opened on April 12th, 2009 in the Clear Lake suburban area of Houston, TX. Among the more innovative features of the upscale extended stay hotel is a home theater room with large plasma TV and leather recliners, 1100 square foot fitness center with a full strength training circuit featuring Life Fitness equipment, 32" LCD televisions with 24 HD channels in all guest suites and an outdoor putting green.
Despite an economic slowdown which has not eluded Texas or the hotel industry, Clear Lake, which is located halfway between downtown Houston and Galveston is currently seeing a boom in new hotel construction. In addition to the recently opened $11.5 million Staybridge Suites, a Springhill Suites, Holiday Inn, Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn Express are also under construction in the area most famous for its' close proximity to NASA's Johnson Space Center and Galveston Bay's Kemah Boardwalk.
Consistent with the Staybridge Suites brand, the residential style hotel will offer fully equipped kitchens in all guest suites, a complimentary daily breakfast buffet, a meeting room, a 24 hour convenience store stocked with snacks, sundries, and beverages, 24 hour business center, complimentary guest laundry, and complimentary wireless internet access throughout the hotel.
Founded in 1998 with its flagship location in Alpharetta, Georgia, the Staybridge Suites brand continues to grow rapidly. Currently there are over 130 Staybridge Suites hotels open worldwide with another 180 in the pipeline, including 14 internationally.
The Staybridge Suites Houston-Clear Lake is owned by Webster Assets LP and is managed under a license agreement with Intercontinental Hotels Group by Pathfinder Development LLC, a regional hotel development and management company based in Houston, TX.
