Our channel partners and customers are already seeing as much as 50 percent savings in software licensing fees alone by creating AppZero VAAs and moving them from old to new hardware. Moving applications to the cloud removes the upfront cost of owning all the infrastructure required to run an application
Andover, MA (PRWEB) April 15, 2009
AppZero has been listed as a "Cool Vendor" in a new report from Gartner titled "Cool Vendors in Cloud Computing System and Application Infrastructure, 2009 published on April 6, 2009.
According to the report, "For most enterprises, 2009 will be a year of experimentation and of the use of cloud infrastructure to power leading-edge and targeted applications."
AppZero develops software that encapsulates server side enterprise applications as Virtual Application Appliances (VAAs) so they can be easily move from the datacenter to the cloud. A VAA contains zero operating system and makes moving enterprise applications to cloud computing environments such as GoGrid and Amazon EC2 simple, fast and reliable. By separating the application from the operating system and its dependencies, legacy and new applications can be quickly moved across different servers and to and from the cloud, without burdensome licensing issues.
AppZero President and CEO Greg O'Connor says applications, middleware and database systems from IBM (NYSE:IBM), Microsoft (NSDQ:MSFT) and Oracle (NSDQ:ORCL) can be easily turned into VAAs and moved into the cloud. Significant savings in application lifecycle, operating systems licenses and huge reduction in application supporting infrastructure such as management and anti-virus can be achieved, while enabling the flexibility to run IT operations wherever there is the best competitive advantage for the business at any moment in time. "Our channel partners and customers are already seeing as much as 50 percent savings in software licensing fees alone by creating AppZero VAAs and moving them from old to new hardware. Moving applications to the cloud removes the upfront cost of owning all the infrastructure required to run an application," O'Connor said.
AppZero is the only tool available for decoupling server side applications from operating systems by creating virtual application appliances that can be quickly moved from the datacenter to the cloud and back . AppZero supports Linux, Solaris and Windows 2003 and Server 2008, 32 and 64 bit infrastructures.
