Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) April 15, 2009
Midland Asset Management is pleased to announce that Christopher Holtby, Partner, has recently obtained the Chartered Private Wealth Advisor (SM) designation. Currently this is the only advanced designation for wealth managers who focus their services on high-net-worth families and their multi-generational cycles of wealth.
The Chartered Private Wealth AdvisorSM (CPWA) program is an advanced designation created specifically for financial advisors and consultants who work with high-net-worth clients on their multi-generational cycles of wealth: accumulation, preservation and distribution. Candidates who attain this designation gain superior expertise in advanced wealth management content, strategies and applied concepts for advising high net worth families and family offices. The program was offered in partnership with the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and sponsored by the Investment Management Consultants Association (http://www.imca.org).
The CPWA mark identifies those individuals who have met the experience requirements, have successfully completed coursework in advanced wealth management content, strategies and applied concepts at The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and have passed a rigorous comprehensive examination covering the following areas: advanced tax planning, asset protection, executive compensation plans, stock options, tax-efficient portfolios, business planning, retirement planning, charitable planning and estate planning. CPWA licensees must also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and to uphold the Investment Consultant Association Code of Professional Responsiblity, Performance Reporting Standards and Standards of Practice.
This wealth management designation differs from the Certified Financial Planning (TM) designation, as financial planning deals with current lifetime issues whereas wealth management deals with multi-generational issues.
