Northeast Analytical, Inc. (NEA) has been selected to process and analyze water, sediment and air samples for Polychlorinated Biphenyl's (PCB) during the 200 days of dredging operations on the upper Hudson River. The contract was award by The General Electric Company (GE). For this program NEA has developed a quicker analytical method that will yield results sooner and allow more time for USEPA and NYSDOH to notify downstream communities if water quality analyses show levels of PCBs above drinking water standards.

Schenectady, NY (PRWEB) April 17, 2009 -- Northeast Analytical, Inc. (NEA) is pleased to announce a contract award by The General Electric Company. NEA has been selected to process and analyze water, sediment and air samples for Polychlorinated Biphenyl's (PCB) during the 200 days of dredging operations on the upper Hudson River. To meet the Phase 1 productivity requirements, dredging operations are expected to occur 24 hours a day, six days a week.

"We are very proud and honored to be part of this important program, underwritten by GE. NEA is a unique position for the program with our proximity to the Hudson River/Ft. Edward region and our capabilities in high sample throughput," said Robert Wagner, President and Founder of NEA.

NEA's state of the art facility is home to some of the most advanced PCB analysis available. NEA's staff has been pioneers in PCB analysis for both congener specific and Aroclor. NEA has developed a quicker analytical method that will yield results sooner and allow more time for USEPA and NYSDOH to notify downstream communities if water quality analyses show levels of PCBs above drinking water standards.

"As with all of our programs, NEA is committed to providing the right answers. This is especially true for this project since it involves the people of the Capital Region and the Hudson River Valley" said Ann Casey, NEA's Marketing and Program Development Manager.

NEA is a full-service laboratory specializing in high resolution PCB analysis and offering other analytical services, including: Pesticide, Herbicide, Metals, Volatile (VOC), and Semi-Volatile (SVOC) analyses.
