Local Husband & Wife Featured in North Bay Business Journal's Top Forty Under 40

The North Bay Business Journal announced the third-annual Top Forty Under 40. The Top Forty showcases thriving young professionals in Northern California. Honorees include Shopping Stand, Inc. CEO Ramin Ramhormozi and his wife, Cupcake Couture, Inc. CEO, Jenny Romeyn.

Santa Rosa, CA (PRWEB) April 15, 2009 -- In a time when positive entrepreneurial news runs scarce, the North Bay Business Journal announced the third-annual Top Forty Under 40. The Top Forty showcases thriving young professionals in Northern California. Honorees include Shopping Stand, Inc. CEO Ramin Ramhormozi and wife, Cupcake Couture, Inc. CEO, Jenny Romeyn.

"It was an honor," said Ramhormozi. "The North Bay Business Journal is a respected publication in our area." This year, ninety-five youthful entrepreneurs battled it out for a chance at the Top Forty. One of those happened to be Ramhormozi's wife, Jenny Romeyn the owner of downtown Santa Rosa's children's and maternity boutique, Cupcake. Both nominees made the Top Forty list. "It's even more exciting to have won alongside Jenny. She deserves a great deal of credit for building a successful local business," Ramhormozi relayed.

Ramhormozi and Romeyn have been married for over five years. While they technically operate separate companies, they are deeply involved in each other's businesses. They sit on each other's boards and spend time hashing out strategic initiatives together - sometimes over morning coffee in their kitchen and other times in the confines of the boardroom. Their businesses reside in the same building in downtown Santa Rosa.

Ramhormozi took Shopping Stand, Inc., a company focused on selling personalized gifts online through its niche stores including GroomStand.com, WeddingStand.com, ShoppingStand.com, and Guyville.com from a startup to over $1 million in revenue. The 38-year old attributes his success to hard work and passion for all things business. His advice to future entrepreneurs: "If you have an idea that you feel passionate about, you owe it to yourself to see if there is a business in that idea. Go for it and get it off the ground, you'll kick yourself if you don't."

While Ramhormozi keeps himself busy growing Shopping Stand Inc., his wife Jenny Romeyn passionately develops her own business. "I enjoy the freedom and responsibility of creating my own destiny. The harder I work, the more successful the business becomes," said Romeyn. Additionally, Romeyn participates in the downtown Santa Rosa community by serving on Santa Rosa Main Street's Board of Directors as well as the SRMS Promotion's Committee Chair. "By being involved at a community level, I get the opportunity to help make the decisions that shape our downtown, which is important to me both as a business owner and as a resident of Santa Rosa," said Romeyn.

Because the duo runs separate businesses, there was a chance that only one of them would be named a Top Forty. "I would feel awful if I was selected and he wasn't. Ramin deserves the recognition because he's at the top of his game as an entrepreneur," said Romeyn. The couple will share their success with other Top Forty winners at a gala reception on April 16.
