The webinar will feature a discussion of the latest advances in cancer genomics by a panel of experts including Sean Grimmond, Ph.D. of the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at the University of Queensland, Australia; David Wheeler, Ph.D., of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas; and John McPherson, Ph.D., of the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research in Toronto, Canada and moderated by Sean Sanders, Ph.D., the Commercial Editor for Science.
Cancer is a complex family of diseases, characterized by the deregulation or dysregulation of the normal control pathways for cellular growth and/or cell death. Despite advances, technological limitations or excessive cost have historically restricted research into causative factors. Next-generation genomic platforms now are enabling scientists to study individual genomes in more depth, giving them a better understanding of the mechanisms of tumorigenesis, metastasis, and therapeutic response.
