Laidlaw and Company (UK) Ltd. Announces Donation to Support Italy's Earthquake Relief Efforts

New York (PRWEB) April 15, 2009 -- Laidlaw and Company (UK), Ltd. a full service international investment banking and brokerage firm announced this morning that it has made a financial donation to the Italian Red Cross to assist with the relief efforts for the earthquake that struck the city of L'Aquila in central Italy. It was the worst earthquake to hit the region in nearly 30 years.

According to most recent reports, several hundred people have been killed and thousands have been left homeless. The Italian Red Cross rescue teams are on the ground assisting in searching for people trapped in the rubble and are providing emergency care for those injured. "We are deeply saddened and empathize with the victims of the earthquake," Hugh Regan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Laidlaw said. "In these difficult moments we pray for those affected and are indeed very thankful for organizations such as the Red Cross who respond on a moments notice."

If you are interested in donating, please visit www.redcross.org.
