WinScribe, the market innovator in digital dictation, transcription, and workflow management solutions announced today that Toll Brothers, Inc. has deployed WinScribe for BlackBerry Smartphones in an effort to streamline the firm's dictation capture and audio file delivery process.
Toll Brothers engages in designing, building, marketing, and arranging finance for single-family detached and attached homes in luxury residential communities in the United States. Toll Brothers is based on a project management system and the project manager is, in effect, the builder for a particular community. This system ensures that buyers deal only with one senior level management person who is in charge of sales, construction and virtually everything within the community.
Prior to adopting WinScribe, Toll Brothers' executives utilized analog tapes to capture dictation information. The use of analog tapes presented users with a number of challenges. Analog tapes are easily lost and broken. When a single tape contains multiple dictation projects, it is difficult to identify the contents of a tape or the number of projects contained on a single tape. Mobile professionals have additional challenges such as the physical delivery of the tapes to support staff for transcription, more specifically the time delay in shipping tapes and the courier costs associated with those shipments.
Executives at Toll Brothers utilize BlackBerry smartphones in their day-to-day operations and sought to find a way to eliminate the challenges posed by the use of analog tapes while leveraging the investment already made with their existing BlackBerry devices.
After comparing WinScribe to competing products, the group decided to take advantage of WinScribe's Test Drive opportunity. "We appreciated the opportunity to test drive WinScribe for BlackBerry Smartphones prior to our purchase," explains Eric Masterson, Senior Business Analyst. "The test drive process enabled us to learn more about the application, while setting our expectations and proving to us what the product could do for us prior to any investment. The process also enabled us to move straight to the implementation phase without delay once we decided that the WinScribe application was the right one for us."
Use of WinScribe for BlackBerry Smartphones has enabled Toll Brothers' Executives to create dictation using their BlackBerry devices and instantly transmit the file upon completion to their administrative support staff regardless of where each party is geographically located. Administrative support staff members are able to transcribe the audio files from any PC and no longer struggle with the frustrations caused by analog tapes and analog transcription equipment. Additional financial benefits are realized as a result of the elimination of courier costs associated to the physical transportation of tapes.
"We chose WinScribe because we feel the product and the company rest on a solid foundation and will be here to support us for the long-term. WinScribe for BlackBerry Smartphones is an application that is easy to use, reliable and works as expected," concludes Masterson.
