What’s about 39 feet long, 13 feet high, bright yellow, and will more than likely bring thousands of people to Branson on Saturday May 9 and Sunday May 10? The answer is the “Wheel of Fortune’s “Wheelmobile.” Hopeful contestants will gather at the Welk Resort Theatre between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on May 9 and 10 where “the preliminary screening process before the final Wheel of Fortune contestant auditions” will take place.
Participants will have a chance to play shortened versions of the “Speed-Up Round”. All contestants will win “Wheel of Fortune” prizes, hats, t-shirts, etc. Of course the most sought prize will be an opportunity to appear on the actual “Wheel of Fortune” television show. According to KY3 TV’s website final contestants will not be chosen during this event but will be named within a few months after all Wheelmobile events are complete. Some contestants will be chosen at random and others will be chosen based on their performance in Branson and will be invited to the final auditions via letter or email.
Wheel of Fortune Contestant Coordinators will select the individuals chosen to appear on the show at final auditions. Individuals participating in these events are responsible for all related expenses, according to Wheel of Fortune.
Hundreds are expected to trek to Branson for the chance to spin the big wheel and hundreds of visitors are expected to make the audition a part of their Branson vacation. According to a Welk Resort spokesperson there is no charge to attend the shows and no preregistration is necessary. Guests will be served on a first come first serve basis.
