Children's Cancer Research Fund® Needs Social Butterflies

Local nonprofit's sixth annual Social Butterfly event will support quality-of-life program for pediatric cancer patients and their families

(PRWEB) April 18, 2009 -- The sixth annual Children's Cancer Research Fund Social Butterfly will be held on Friday, April 24, at Trocaderos (107 3rd Ave. in Minneapolis). One of the year's hottest cocktail parties, Social Butterfly helps build awareness of pediatric cancer and Children's Cancer Research Fund among tomorrow's community leaders. All proceeds benefit the Children's Cancer Research Fund Care Partners program.

Guests attending Social Butterfly, which begins at 8 p.m., will enjoy the great music of special guest Tim Mahoney, dancing, plentiful hors d'oeuvres and cocktails and raffle prize.

About Care Partners
Care Partners is a Children's Cancer Research Fund quality-of-life program for pediatric hematology/oncology and blood and marrow transplant patients and families at the University of Minnesota Children's Hospital, Fairview. Care Partners, a volunteer-driven program, has served nearly 2,600 families since its establishment in 1983 and currently has 125 volunteers. Last year, Care Partners volunteers provide more than 3,600 support hours by assisting families, spending time with patients, providing computer and Internet access and running the Care Partners Book Cart Program.
