Apple on Track for 60,000 Applications by June WWDC

Today the app store clocked over 40,000 applications. Games as one would expect takes the largest slice of the apple pie, with approximately 14,900 game applications out of the stores 40,000+ applications. CNNMoney recently reported 30,000 apps in late March which puts Apple on track for over 60,000 applications by June when they are expected to reveal third generation iPhone(s) at WWDC.

Today the app store clocked over 40,000 applications. Games as one would expect takes the largest slice of the apple pie, with approximately 14,900 game applications out of the stores 40,000+ applications. Interestingly, the next largest type in the app store is entertainment, then books closely followed by utilities, however games dominate the top 100 most popular applications, with 65 games applications on that list.

CNNMoney recently reported 30,000 apps in late March which puts Apple on track for over 60,000 applications by June when they are expected to reveal third generation iPhone(s) at WWDC.
