Former Big East Player of the Year and NBA Veteran Pat Garrity Joins Career Athletes

Kansas City, Mo (PRWEB) April 19, 2009 -- Career Athletes, the leading career education and resource provider for graduating and alumni collegiate athletes, is excited to announce that former Notre Dame Big East Player of the Year and 10 season NBA veteran Pat Garrity has joined its advisory board.

Patrick Garrity graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Science Pre-Professional Studies (pre-med) from the University of Notre Dame. He was named the Big East Player of the Year for men's basketball in 1997, the Big East Student Athlete of the Year for men's basketball in 1998, NABC/Chevrolet Second Team All-American and the GTE Academic All-American of the Year for men's basketball in 1998. While at the University of Notre Dame, he also performed research aimed at the discovery, characterization and synthesis of novel antibiotic drugs for the organic chemistry laboratory of Dr. Paul Helquist. In 1998, he was one of two honorees for the school's most prestigious award for student athletes, the Byron V. Kanaley award. Pat played 10 seasons for the Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic.
