La Jolla, California (PRWEB) April 19, 2009
San Diego women and men looking to revive their appearance finally have a one-stop resource for skin and body enhancement: La Jolla Plastic Surgery & Dermatology. The new surgical practice combines the talents of triple board-certified San Diego plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Chaffoo (http://www.drchaffoo.com) and board-certified dermatologist Dr. Susan Stuart to offer an extensive menu of treatments ranging from San Diego liposuction, breast augmentation and eyelid surgery to BOTOX® Cosmetic and Fraxel® laser skin enhancement. The practice is conveniently located in La Jolla's Scripps Medical Center.
Dr. Chaffoo and Dr. Stuart have both received a number of honors in recognition of their skill and authority as leaders in plastic surgery and dermatology in the San Diego area. Dr. Chaffoo is president of the San Diego Plastic Surgery Society and is on the clinical faculty of the Department of Surgery at University of California San Diego Medical Center. He is also Chief of Plastic Surgery at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas, and in addition to his years of training for board certification has completed three postgraduate fellowships in plastic surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Otolaryngology, and the American Board of Facial Plastic & Aesthetic Surgery.
"I'm excited to be able to offer my San Diego plastic surgery patients a 'one stop shop' where they can choose from both surgical and nonsurgical procedures to enhance their image and lifestyle," says San Diego plastic surgeon Dr. Chaffoo. "My patients truly can benefit from the knowledge and experience of Dr. Stuart, a board-certified dermatologist offering today's latest skin care options."
Dr. Stuart is a recognized leader in both dermatology and laser skin care treatments in San Diego, having served multiple terms as the Chief of the Division of Dermatology at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla. She was one of the youngest doctors to serve as president of the San Diego Dermatological Society, and as a University of San Diego faculty instructor she also plays an active role in educating the next generation of dermatologists on techniques and technologies.
Dr. Chaffoo and Dr. Stuart are both highly respected for their longstanding achievements, but until now patients who wanted the full benefit of the husband-and-wife team had to meet with each at separate offices. The combined practice will offer particular benefits for those patients who decide to undergo both cosmetic surgery and dermatological treatments.
"For example," Dr. Susan Stuart, "plastic surgery can refine the structure and overall appearance of the treatment area, but when sun damage or other factors are at play, custom skin care treatments are often necessary to help reverse those effects and ensure smooth results. To treat sun damage, wrinkling, and uneven skin texture or tone, an approach that integrates Fraxel laser therapy or microdermabrasion along with plastic surgery will often yield a much better outcome."
Both surgeons have trained extensively through advanced fellowships, and remain actively involved in the larger medical community through ongoing research and membership in local and national medical organizations. Each also brings with them a dedicated and satisfied patient base.
"Both Dr. Stuart and I aim to offer the most appropriate treatment for each patient based on a philosophy of individualized care," Dr. Chaffoo says. "Cosmetic surgery and dermatology are both developing very rapidly to better meet patients' goals, and by combining our treatment menus in one location, we can offer better results and a better patient experience overall."
