San Luis Obispo, CA (PRWEB) April 20, 2009
LEVEL Studios (level-studios.com), an independent digital agency, announced that the 13th Annual Webby Awards recognized NAMCO BANDAI's Afro Samurai video game website as an Official Honoree in the "Games-Related" category. LEVEL designed and built the site, which features large amounts of original art work in Maya, After Effects and Flash.
The Afro Samurai franchise started as an animated TV series on Spike TV, backed by the voices of Samuel L. Jackson, Lucy Liu and Mark Perlman. Based on the success of the TV series, NAMCO BANDAI Games released the Afro Samurai video game in the United States in January 2009. Both are based on the Japanese animated series of the same name.
"It is a tremendous honor to have our work acknowledged by the Webby Awards," said Tom Adamski, President and CEO of LEVEL. "The Webbys have consistently maintained very high standards and is truly the premier award out there given for excellence on the web. We appreciate the recognition given to our talented team here at LEVEL and wish to congratulate our fellow honorees."
Webby entrants in the website category are judged based on content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity and overall experience. Other honorees in the "Games-Related" category include MTV Networks, AKQA and AOL.
