Cobb County now ranks as the most educated location in Georgia and the 15th most educated county in the nation as reported by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce. With residents placing such a high value on educational attainment, it’s no wonder the award winning school system rates in the top 10 percent by national standardized test scores.

Cobb County residents are served by two public school systems – Cobb County and City of Marietta. Families in both systems are supported by an urban community with a solid mix of housing opportunities, including new homes in Cobb county. From townhomes for first-time buyers to extravagant executive homes to mixed-use communities that offer several housing styles, choices are abundant.

Residents also enjoy easy access to the county’s three four-year colleges and two technical schools, which educate a total of about than 35,000 students. Residents of [active adult] communities find locations near Kennesaw State University especially convenient for continuing education classes.

Residents who settle in Cobb County find ample opportunities to expand their cultural educations, too. In Mableton, for example, the Mable House Complex features a home that was once used as a Civil War field hospital, an arts center and the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre. The Mable House Complex adds an element of community to the Mableton area by strengthening relationships among neighbors, who say they enjoy seeing each other at the many events.

This summer’s offerings in the 2,400-seat amphitheatre include acts as diverse as Kenny G, Montgomery Gentry, BB King and the B-52s. The summer season will finish with the gospel musical, Smoke on the Mountain.
