The New York metropolitan area is home to the largest small business market in the country with more than 500,000 small businesses located throughout the area. Today, Optimum Business announced its sponsorship of The New York Enterprise Report Small Business Awards 2009, the only annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of these businesses, many of which are Optimum customers.

All small businesses throughout the tri-state area are invited to submit a nomination for recognition of best practices and accomplishments across technology, customer service, green business, human resource leadership, and sales and marketing. The deadline for entries is Friday, May 15, 2009.

"Cablevision and Optimum Business are dedicated to serving the business communities with superior technology and communications products and are excited and enthusiastic about working with New York Enterprise Report to recognize small businesses in the communities we serve," said Stephanie Anderson, Vice President of Marketing for Commercial Services. "We are hoping for a great response and look forward to hearing from small businesses in the New York Metropolitan Area on how technology has made a major impact on their ability to generate profits and create a competitive advantage. This is a perfect opportunity to recognize the hard work and efforts of the businesses in our community."

Optimum Business is the sponsor of the Technology Award recognizing small businesses on the use of one or more technologies that have made a major impact on the company's ability to generate profits and create a competitive advantage. The criteria states the technology must have been created for and implemented for results within the business itself, not for a client/customer. Applicants are encouraged to submit documentation to verify the claims made in their nomination package and to submit nominations early. Winners will be announced at The Small Business Awards Gala on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at The Metropolitan Pavilion in New York, New York.
