Dr. Gina Maraio has been a Family Practice Physican for the last 13 years, specializing until recently in End-of-Life care and in pain and palliation. Now she is opening a Solo Practice specializing in Family Practice and accepts patients from all walks of life. As a DO (Doctor of Osteopathy) Dr. Maraio has addiitional training beyond traditional medicine, and looks at the Whole Person, not just the disease.

In house-call practice for more than ten (10) years, Dr. Gina Maraio announces the opening of her new office-based practice in Oceanside, CA.

Dr. Maraio, long a proponent of holistic health care, offers both traditional medical care and alternative medical care. As an Osteopath, Dr. Maraio spent an additional year in medical school training, learning manipulative techniques and how the body misbehaves when not in proper alignment. Dr. Maraio uses this enhanced training to diagnose subtle findings in her patients' bodies, often difficult problems that have been missed for years. Dr. Maraio listens!

Open House for the new office was held in February, and she is planning another open house for the community in early June. Community members, prospective patients and referral physicians are invited to attend.

Traditional and Palliative Care
Over the past ten years, Dr. Maraio has specialized in end-of-life care and pain management for the elderly and terminally ill patients. She has become an expert in managing excruciating, chronic pain and terminal suffering. This experience has contributed naturally to her concentrated knowledge of the human body as it encounters pain and failure to thrive. She has become a specialist in "old-fashioned" medicine, listening to the patient's heart and tummy for telltale signs and realizing that every BODY is different. Just because your body's test results are in a different range from "normal" doesn't mean your data is not normal. It may be normal for your body. Dr. Maraio takes each and every individual as a special case, treating the whole body, not just the evident symptom (aka "Chief Complaint").

Dr. Maraio is a member physician affiliated with Greater Tri-Cities IPA, and her HMO panel is still open to new patients. Dr. Maraio also takes PPO patients affiliated with every insurance company and cash patients who have no insurance. She is usually available for same-day or next-day appointments.
