We are pleased to integrate Arxan's GuardIT solution with the ePolicy Orchestrator software, so our joint customers can quickly respond to and mitigate application breaches.
San Francisco (PRWEB) April 21, 2009
Arxan Technologies®, a leading provider of application hardening solutions that protect software applications from tampering, today announced that it has completed the integration of its GuardIT® solution with McAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator® (ePO™) console, achieving the McAfee Compatible designation for GuardIT.
Today's sophisticated hackers increasingly target the application layer for their attacks. In most multi-layered security approaches, the integrity of application code is the last line of defense against malicious threats. The integration of Arxan's application tampering detection and alerting capabilities with McAfee ePO software allows customers to receive prompt notification of external or internal application attacks. With security alerts being delivered directly to the ePO console, enterprises can now respond immediately using various protection and remediation options to thwart tampering attempts.
"By combining ePolicy Orchestrator software with Arxan's patented Guard technology, our joint customers can benefit from an 'early warning system' that provides visibility into that critical interval between the onset of an application attack and full compromise," said Joe Gottlieb, vice president of corporate strategy and technology alliances, McAfee. "This integration with Arxan augments McAfee's risk management capabilities at the application layer, bringing increased application security and control to our customers."
Arxan's GuardIT provides unique binary-level abilities to defend, detect, alert and react to threats without changing source code or disrupting software development. The policy-based Guard reaction framework allows customers the flexibility to determine how Guard-enabled applications can provide security. With this integration, GuardIT reports critical security events directly from the host running a protected application to the ePO server. Tampering detection alerts contain detailed information about the threat and are surfaced immediately into ePO dashboards.
"Malicious code insertion and code exploits are the latest threats to enterprise applications and data security. This requires enterprises to develop a stronger line of defense to protect their software-related assets," said Mike Dager, chief executive officer of Arxan. "We are pleased to integrate Arxan's GuardIT solution with the ePolicy Orchestrator software, so our joint customers can quickly respond to and mitigate application breaches."
McAfee ePO software is the first platform that lets enterprises and governments centrally manage security and compliance products from multiple vendors, offering unprecedented cost savings and return on investment. With more than 35,000 customers and managing security solutions on close to 60 million PCs and servers, this unique platform is helping McAfee Security Innovation Alliance program partners to extend their reach and create complementary functionality.
Note to Editors: A presentation on the McAfee ePO/Arxan GuardIT integrated solution will take place at the RSA Conference 2009: World's Largest Information Security Industry Conference and Expo April 22 from12:30-1 p.m. at the McAfee Partner Pavilion. In addition, Arxan will be exhibiting at Booth #358 throughout the duration of the show, which runs from April 20-23.
