I'm particularly pleased with the number of new organizations we added to our customer list this quarter, providing clear evidence that our strategy of delivering software solutions that enable spatial-based collaboration is resonating
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 21, 2009
TerraGo® Technologies, a leading provider of geospatial collaboration software solutions, today announced details of its Q1 2009 results. Highlights for the quarter include growth in several key areas of the business, including a 13% increase in total year-over-year sales, a 39% increase in core software sales, and the addition of 62 net new customers.
"I'm particularly pleased with the number of new organizations we added to our customer list this quarter, providing clear evidence that our strategy of delivering software solutions that enable spatial-based collaboration is resonating," said Rick Cobb, president and CEO of TerraGo Technologies. "We also saw more customers purchasing multiple products, including several of our server-based solutions that help enterprise organizations create geospatial applications that enable grab-and-go access to the latest geospatial intelligence."
On the product front, the Company saw a strong uptake of its Publisher for Raster® solution, which makes it possible for organizations to publish large geo-referenced or orthorectified images to a geo-referenced PDF file (GeoPDF®) for easy dissemination and use by field personnel. For example, organizations like the US Naval Oceanographic Office and the GeoResources Institute at the University of Mississippi selected Publisher for Raster this quarter to expand the usability of their geospatial assets.
Adding to the list of nearly 800 TerraGo customers, the Canadian Department of National Defense purchased TerraGo software to create map books in support of the war on terror, and the California Department of Water Resources purchased the TerraGo Publisher and Composer solutions to provide greater access to its geospatial information. In addition, a significant number new pilot projects with TerraGo Mobile were initiated across the intelligence, defense, and commercial markets.
One of TerraGo's strategic customers, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, began implementing a new capability within TerraGo Composer that will enable them to dynamically serve up-to-the-minute geospatial intelligence to first responders and field resources during emergencies. Leveraging an ESRI ArcGIS Server environment and Web Map Services (WMS) protocols, the new solution automatically creates a layer with the most recent data that can be viewed on top of the base map for greater time-lapse analysis of the impacted area.
From a partner standpoint, TerraGo's international channel partners continued to deliver strong results, including a win at Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) with Spatial Geolink and at Network Rail with Quarry OneEleven in the United Kingdom. Working in conjunction with i-Cubed, a provider of enterprise geospatial information solutions, TerraGo software was selected by the US Department of Defense. In addition, the company's newly established relationships with BAE Systems and Trimble Navigation continued to gain traction.
The Company will be reviewing its Q1 performance along with a preview of its upcoming product release in a webcast on April 29th at 2PM est. For more information on the webcast, visit http://www.terragotech.com.
