We're thrilled that our partner IGT has been recognized by the casino gaming industry for the unique value that MLD technology has added to its games
Redwood Shores, CA (PRWEB) April 23, 2009
PureDepth™, Inc. (OTC:PDEP), the creator of Multi-Layer Display (MLD™) technology and a leader in new visualization experiences, today announced that a line of MLD-based casino games produced for International Game Technology (IGT) has been recognized with several awards honoring the best technologies in gaming.
IGT's REELdepth™ games with MLD technology were named the 2009 Lottery Product of the Year by the Public Gaming Research Institute. The games were also recognized in the Electronic Game Innovations category at the March 24 Smart-Tech Conference, which is attended by industry professionals from almost every lottery state in the U.S. In addition, Casino Journal named REELdepth MLD games to its list of the Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Technology Products for 2008.
IGT offers more than 70 REELdepth video slots using MLD technology and has recently signed a ten-year extension of exclusivity with PureDepth. Available in both Class III and lottery jurisdictions, the games are currently in more than 250 casinos worldwide.
PureDepth's MLD displays contain two or more layers of LCD panels placed in front of one another in a single monitor, with patented technology used to remove interference. The result is real depth, not perceived depth.
"We're thrilled that our partner IGT has been recognized by the casino gaming industry for the unique value that MLD technology has added to its games," said PureDepth CEO Andy Wood. "Through their innovative use of MLD technology, IGT's REELDepth machines provide players with a new and exciting visual experience that increases their enjoyment and give both players and casino managers more customizable gaming options."
PureDepth's MLD technology offers 3-D-like imagery without the need for special glasses. By providing real depth, instead of a simulation, PureDepth's technology delivers the most lifelike and most useful visual experience ever available, without negative side effects like headaches and dizziness, making it ideal for applications in not only casino gaming, but also amusement gaming, public displays, mobile devices, data analysis and more.
