Ron Utecht, Co-Chief Executive Officer and President of TIMCO Aviation Services, has accepted this year's prestigious "Nuts and Bolts" award from the Air Transport Association's (ATA) Engineering and Maintenance Committee for his outstanding service and contributions to the airline industry over the course of his career. The award was presented to Ron at the 2009 ATA/Aviation Week Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) conference held in Dallas, Texas. According to the ATA, winners of the annual award are individuals who have "gone the extra mile" and succeeded in improving the aviation system or the processes related to airline engineering, maintenance or materiel management.
Ron received the award for recognition of his leadership in the industry over more than 40 years, many of which were spent with United Airlines culminating in the role of Senior Vice President of Maintenance. Today, he heads TIMCO, North America's largest independent MRO provider, along with Co-CEO Kevin Carter.
TIMCO Aviation Services provides fully integrated aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and line maintenance services for major commercial and government aircraft operators. The company currently operates three active maintenance locations at its corporate headquarters in Greensboro, NC, as well as facilities in Macon, GA, and Lake City, FL.
