Mercator's syndicated consumer research initiative will provide pragmatic, actionable information and insight into the current consumer mindset, enabling members to make sound, practical decisions in operating and growing their business during these challenging economic times and beyond
Boston, MA. (PRWEB) April 25, 2009
Mercator Advisory Group, the leading independent research and advisory firm exclusively focused on the payments industry, announced that it is now offering timely and cost-effective primary consumer research tailored to meet the needs of payments industry providers on today's most critical strategic issues.
As payments providers of all types recognize, consumer choice ultimately determines marketing success and program financial results. Today's volatile economic environment is forcing consumers to modify their behaviors and better account for their financial choices.
There is minimal publicly available information that reflects consumer payment preferences and experiences during this recessionary period. Mercator Advisory Group's consumer research series fills this void through the delivery of qualitative and quantifiable research. The primary research series is designed to provide crucial insights that will enable organizations throughout the payments system to create effective and targeted marketing and operational strategies.
"Mercator's syndicated consumer research initiative will provide pragmatic, actionable information and insight into the current consumer mindset, enabling members to make sound, practical decisions in operating and growing their business during these challenging economic times and beyond," states Robert Misasi, Mercator Advisory Group founder and CEO. "This addition to Mercator's portfolio of services will enhance our leadership position as a payments research firm while enabling members to optimize channels and markets as well as develop strategies and tactics to acquire, retain, and cross-sell services to consumers."
Mercator Advisory Group 2009 Primary Research members will have a full year's access to all primary research reports generated. Early members will have the opportunity to suggest and review survey questionnaire content for this year in order for Mercator Advisory Group to develop the qualitative and quantitative dimensions of the research.
Mercator Advisory Group believes that member input is critical to the success of this research initiative and strongly recommends participation by payment professionals that subscribe to the studies. Deadline for providing input towards the study is May 8, 2009.
Mercator Advisory Group will address four payment topic areas in its 2009 study:
- Prepaid Cards
- Mobile Payments
- Credit and Charge Cards
- Loyalty and Rewards
Mercator Advisory Group will provide the following deliverables for each topic:
- A comprehensive text report, including a discussion of strategic implications
- A separate presentation deck of the major report figures
- A set of comprehensive data cross tabulations for all survey questions related to the topic plus the sample demographics
- Subscriber access to a teleconference to present and discuss topic findings
Mercator Advisory Group will field online surveys representative of the U.S. consumer population with a minimum sample size of 1,000 per survey. Mercator Advisory Group, leveraging its expertise in payments, will design, manage, and analyze the survey, partnering with a recognized national research panel firm for data collection.
Data collection and analysis is expected to be completed by the end of Q2 of 2009 and a series of syndicated reports will be made available beginning at the start of Q3 of 2009.
