The Alliance for Biking and Walking, formerly known as Thunderhead Alliance, has launched a new website to address their mission to create, strengthen and unite state and local bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organizations. The Alliance is a national coalition of state and local bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organizations working in unison to break down the barriers to safe bicycling and walking in North American communities.

The Alliance partnered with leading Washington DC web design company, Blue Water Media to develop the new site. Having worked with many non-profit organizations in the past, Blue Water Media was an ideal choice based on their expertise and experience building websites. The new site provides service to its members through resources like their online library, job board, and events calendar. Further resources are offered to educate the public concerning advocacy, events, and topical research. The site also serves as a portal for relevant news on biking and walking advocacy issues.

Realizing that the Alliance would need a robust and flexible content management system to administer the site, Blue Water Media built the site on the popular platform, ExpressionEngine. ExpressionEngine is a flexible, feature-rich content management system that empowers thousands of individuals, organizations, and companies around the world to easily manage their website.
