Henry Ford is clearly one of the country's leading health care systems offering the best in clinical treatment with the most innovative and comprehensive patient care programs within each of its seven hospitals
Mountain View, Calif. (PRWEB) April 27, 2009
ZONARE Medical Systems, Inc., a developer of premium ultrasound systems, today announced it has installed five z.one ultrasound systems at two hospitals within the Henry Ford Health System, one of the leading health care providers in the U.S.
The new z.one ultrasound systems are being used for various imaging procedures in the Radiology Department at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, a new 300-bed facility in West Bloomfield Township, Mich., and at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Mich. In addition, Henry Ford Health System recently issued a purchase order for new z.one ultra sp ultrasound systems for use in surgery and orthopedics.
"The ZONARE pricing was extremely competitive and the imaging was superior to the other systems we evaluated," said Wayne E. Howell, Jr., Technology Management Services, Henry Ford Health System.
The z.one ultrasound system is a premium-quality, Convertible Ultrasound™ platform based on proprietary Zone Sonography™ technology. Clinicians are able to easily convert the z.one system from a full-featured, cart-based system into a premium compact ultrasound system without sacrificing image quality or performance. As a result, demanding clinical studies can be done in a variety of clinical settings with high diagnostic confidence.
The new z.one ultra sp system builds upon the precedent set by the z.one system, offering superb image quality and ease-of-use. The premium ultrasound system is designed specifically to meet clinicians' needs for point-of-care markets including interventional radiology, venous ablation, emergency medicine, anesthesiology, critical care and ob/gyn imaging.
"Henry Ford is clearly one of the country's leading health care systems offering the best in clinical treatment with the most innovative and comprehensive patient care programs within each of its seven hospitals," said Mark Miller, vice president of sales and marketing, ZONARE Medical Systems. "We are very pleased that the health care system has once again chosen ZONARE as its partner for ultrasound and we are dedicated to ensuring that their positive experience with our technology continues well into the future."
The z.one ultrasound platform's software-based architecture allows its performance to continue to improve as greater processing power becomes available. System software upgrades can be downloaded over the internet.
In the 2008 Hand-Carried Ultrasound (HCU) report issued by Klein Biomedical Consultants (KBC), the industry's leading analyst, ZONARE is projected to be one of the market leaders in 2010 in the HCU market. The z.one ultra system was also awarded a 2008 Best in KLAS category leader award for the HCU market.
