Gallop Launches Etilities.Com™ as its Consumer-Facing Brand

Gallop Services Inc. launched today in order to bolster its consumer-facing business. The move, aimed to focus more on the needs of individual consumers, is accompanied by the release of its Etilities Assistant™, which is aimed at keeping users appraised of industry changes that impact them.

Following feedback from its customers, Gallop chose to expand its Internet presence around personal technology services under a strong brand that the company referred to as "relevant and intuitive to individuals". An Etility is defined as a "service exchanging or facilitating the passage of data from one system to another". Etilities encompass four categories of technology services:

  •     Internet Connectivity: Services providing the backbone of the communication from dial-up to broadband providers.
  •     Voice Services: Services enabling the exchange of voice information from one point to another, including both fixed and mobile phones.
  •     Entertainment Services: Services providing information and entertainment such as music, movies, television and radio.
  •     Internet Applications: Services providing value to computer systems or their users such as backup services, anti-virus services, anti-spam services or even e-mail.

As part of the transition, all content from the Blog and Community forum will be transferred to the new site with minimal impact to existing users. The community forum will continue to enable people to select and rate services based on its DSV℠ methodology.

In addition to the new site, Gallop launched the Assistant. Through the Etilities Wire, the Assistant monitors industry changes across technology services and reports those that apply to the end-user. Results will be accessible in either an unfiltered or a filtered display accessible through e-mail, web or RSS.
